Ethral
Explore the land of Ethral, conquer nine dark dungeons and collect the shards that restore the Ethral Pendant, the only thing that can end the Pirate King.
Independent game studio
We build retro-rooted adventures with hand-drawn pixel art, original scores and systems deep enough to reward a second playthrough. Four games in development. One of them is on Steam right now.
On Steam, coming Q4 2026
Play as a young hero in a retro pixel top-down adventure: explore the land of Ethral, find secrets, conquer dark dungeons, and collect shards to restore the Ethral Pendant to defeat the Pirate King.
Wishlisting is the single biggest thing you can do for a small studio. It is how Steam decides who gets seen at launch.
The catalogue
An item-gated overworld adventure, a compact Metroidvania, a real-time strategy game and a step-based party crawler. They share an art discipline, not a template.
Explore the land of Ethral, conquer nine dark dungeons and collect the shards that restore the Ethral Pendant, the only thing that can end the Pirate King.
The ancient protector of Hallowtown is called from his slumber. A compact Metroidvania of melee, archery and unlockable skills, playable right now.
Hold the Graymarch. A compact real-time strategy game of workers, knights and keeps, with a fully voiced cast of very small people.
Nine nations, four centuries of enforced peace, and sixty-six people who feel every wound. A step-based party crawler with Active Time Battle combat, playable flat or in VR.

How we work
01
Every sprite, tile, portrait and animation in these games was drawn for them. Nothing is bought in off a shelf, which is slower and is the entire point.
02
Each game gets its own score. Kingdom Shields goes further: every unit in it answers back, across more than eighty recorded lines.
03
Two of the four run on GameMaker. Vharaduun runs on an engine written from scratch in C on raylib, because a step-based VR crawler wanted its own foundation.
04
Item-gated worlds, fog of war, Active Time Battle, a treaty that does its own accounting. The mechanics carry the story rather than decorating it.
